Khursheed urges SC to take notice on verdict against Sindh MPA
KARACHI: Leader of the Opposition Syed Khursheed Shah has urged the Supreme Court of Pakistan to take a suo-moto notice on accountability court’s verdict against Sindh Assembly member Ali Nawaz Shah, ARY News reports.Syed Khursheed Shah, speaking to media here in Karachi, said that Accountability Court gave verdict against Sindh minister Ali Nawaz Shah in a fake case.
It should be noted that accountability court had sentenced Ali Nawaz Shah to five years in jail in a corruption case.
The opposition leader also said that even political opponents of the MPA have said that the minister is honest.
“Ali Nawaz Shah had refused to take advantage of the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO). The accountability court’s verdict against him raise suspicions that judgments are being given on basis of political differences”, the opposition leader said.
“It is alarming when the courts stop providing justice to the people in the country”, he added.
Shah lauded the role of Rangers and Sindh Government in improving the law and order situation in Karachi.
