MQM leader Amir Khan’s revelations trigger political storm
KARACHI: Pakistan’s prominent journalist Mubasher Lucman on Monday came up with detained Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Amir Khan’s confessional statement after his arrest by Rangers from party headquarters, ARY News reported.
Lucman came up with Amir Khan’s statement in his once banned talk show ‘Khara Sach’ and revealed that MQM leader Amir Khan told investigators that since his inclusion in the party in 2011, many of the MQM leaders started criminal activities with his support.
Some of the office bearers he named were Babar Ghouri, Wasim Aftab, Umair Siddiqui, Hammad Siddiqui, Adil Siddiqui, Abdullah Sheikh, Shakil Umar, Farooq Salim, Anees Sheikh, Islam Fauji, Raees Mamma, Doctor Gul Hasan Zaidi Manzoor Lamba and Sultan Moosa.
Khan further said that MQM workers were told to kill people on sectarian grounds. Some of the workers involved in such killings were Faisal Mota, Danish Rehmani, Masood (brother of MQM leader Qamar Mansoor), Sarfraz alis Dipara.
They were involved in killings of Shia and Sunni Muslims.
ALLEGATIONS ON BABAR GHOURI
Babar Ghouri only had a bike in 1986 and was a man of small means working in a small time restaurant in Nazimabad area.
During Musharraf’s reign, Ghauri was made the minister for ports and shipping. Khan claimed that Ghauri not only used the ministry for large scale corruption but also grabbed lands with the help of former MQM MPA Waseem Aftab.
Ghauri is also the partner of a renowned building firm owner in Karachi.
IMRAN FAROOQ’s MURDER
About the slain MQM leader Dr. Imran Farooq, Khan said that the MQM’s founding member was dismissed due to the differences within party.
It was MQM which killed its founding member Imran Farooq.
Amir Khan claimed that since the accounts of MQM chief Altaf Hussain were freezed after the money laundering allegations.
Several MQM leaders used to visit London with hard cash in their luggage.
Amir Khan further claimed that MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s health is deteriorating. One day, he appoints some leader in Rabita Committee (co-ordination committee) and dismisses him the other day.
It must be noted that a week ago, death row convict notorious target killer Saulat Mirza came up with ‘target killing’ allegations against MQM chief and some of the top leadership of MQM.
