Peaceful Afghanistan important for ending terrorism: Maleeha Lodhi

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s permanent representative at the United Nations (UN) Maleeha Lodhi said that peace in Afghanistan is important for rooting out terrorism from the region.

According to Radio Pakistan, she made the statement while speaking at Harvard University.

Pakistan’s permanent representative to the UN also said that the country’s military offensive against terrorism is in its last stages by the issue cannot be resolved unless Afghanistan is peaceful.

Lodhi added that conflicts have paved way to security challenge in the region.

She added that Kashmir issue has been unresolved whereas Afghanistan is in a state of conflict for more than three and a half decades.
