Prices and fares have witnessed record reduction, claims Shahbaz Sharif
LAHORE: Chief Minister of Punjab Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said on Monday that essential commodities and fares of public transport have witnessed record decrease, ARY News reported.
Shahbaz Sharif called a meeting of Price Control Committees in Lahore to review reduction in fares of public transport and other commodities following recent cut in the prices of petroleum products.
Addressing via video link, CM Punjab expressed satisfaction that the government’s public welfare measures are bearing fruit.
However, in reality, despite of the declining trend of petroleum prices, no reduction has been made in fares and price of other commodities.
During the meeting, Shahbaz Sharif advised authorities to take action against profiteers and hoarders creating artificial shortage of essential commodities.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif visited Aabpara and G-10 markets to review rates of different commodities from the shopkeepers.
