Prolonged outages: Sindh orders closure of shops, businesses by 9pm
KARACHI: After more than 48 hours of severe load shedding in various areas, the Sindh government has eventually awakened and come up with a solution to reduce power outages across the province, ARY News reported.
Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah on Monday evening presided over an emergency meeting at the CM House, Karachi, during which the officials discussed multiple options to reduce the power shortfall in Sindh especially in Karachi.
After the meeting, the chief minister ordered the closure of shops and businesses by 9pm.
He also ordered for keeping the air conditioners (ACs) switched off at government offices till 11 am and to keep half the number of street lights off during night-time, with a bulb switched on every one out of two poles across the megapolis.
The government directed all the concerned officials to get the orders implemented strictly.
